I have a stock Optimus T, non-rooted. It was on version 'L' firmware. Last night I installed the LG USB drivers and the LG Updater. During the update my phone hung at 4% and now only shows 'Emergency Mode'. I cannot get it to any other screen. Cannot get into recovery...nothing. Trying the LG updater advises me that updating is no longer possible due to a fatal error while updating.

I spent the day researching and ended up here hoping for help.

Part of my research led me to this tutorial on youtube: . I downloaded the stock factory image from the youtube tutorial and am gearing up to use the KDZ program to try and recover my phone. One major glitch I see in the process is installing ADB...I cannot get into any screen on my phone other than Emergeny Mode so I cannot enable USB debugging.

Is there any way to enable USB debugging when I can't get beyond Emergency Mode?

Is it essential to install ADB to use the KDZ program?

I managed to recover my phone using the youtube poster's instructions.

I differed just a bit. I used the latest USB drivers from LG.
