Is there a way to restore text messages on my phone?

I know this is a crazy question but I came to T-Mobile from Verizon and when I used to get a replacement phone from Verizon I used to be able move my text messages from my phone to my SD card. And then when I got my new phone just move the messages back to the phone and restore them. I don't see that option on the T-Mobile Note 3. Any suggestions? Thanks

Well, you can download the app SMS Backup & Restore and it saves to your SD card, used it from Verizon to jump to Sprint to jump to T-Mobile
