For some reason when someone leaves me a voicemail I am not notified of it on my notification screen. How do I fix this?

Are you getting all other notifications - texts, email, missed calls, etc? Do you have any third party apps installed that control or affect notifications? When you say notification screen are you talking about the notification bar at the top of the screen that you pull down or do you mean a lock screen or something else?

Some things I would try is going into the visual voicemail app and turning it off, going to the app in application manager and clearing the cache, rebooting, then turning it back on.

If you still have a problem, try clearing the cache from recovery (or you could just do this combined with the above when you are rebooting).

Clearing the data and cache in app manager, Force Stop, Uninstall updates, Turn off (disable) app. Reboot, and turn app back on in application manager and let it install any updates.

If none of this works, I would think you have a third party app interfering that you have to hunt down. I've never had a problem getting visual vm notifications on my note 3 myself.

I thought I was not getting notifications until someone showed me the tiny icon that appears in the top left, which I still don't notice when I get a message. Can I make the app give me a big notice on my screen like when I get a txt or a red number on the icon like Facebook?

Did you ever figure out how to do this. I also "miss" seeing that I have visual voicemail.

    thanks!

You didn't say what you are trying to figure out how to do. The voicemail notification shows in the notification bar as usual. If it doesn't, you've probably done something to stop it. You can also put the visual voicemail widget on your homescreen.

I think what I have seen being asked, and what I was wondering as well, is why the visual voicemail icon doesn't have the number of voicemails (1, 2, 3, etc) right on the icon, similar to email, facebook, messages. I know that there is a really really small notification on the upper notification part of the screen but it is really hard to see.

It does very clearly have the number of voicemails on it.
