Old Android Software?

Hi guys. I've had the Sidekick 4g for about 3 months now and it was running flawlessly (even with several apps downloaded) up until I received a software update about a month ago. Now the phone is very slow with everything (opening up messages, contacts, making calls, apps: literally everything). It got to the point where I did a factory reset on the phone. It works ok for a few minutes after I restart it, but then just starts to bog down even without any downloaded apps. Is there any way to put the old software back on or is this a familiar problem with some android owners? Thanks.

This seems to be a common complaint. You may want to look at Rooting your phone. go to the XDA forums for guidance as this (though commonly done on Android Phones) can "brick" a phone if not done the proper way. However, significant speed/performance/memory improvements can be reached with this method. I am hoping to Root mine soon.
