Question regarding T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant pricing

Hello All,

New and excited about getting my first android (Vibrant) tomorrow. I have a question regarding T-Mobile pricing for Samsung Vibrant referring to Even More vs Even More Plus plans.

1000 Minutes Talk + Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web (Even More Plus) is $69.99.
1000 Minutes Talk + Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web (Even More) is $89.99.

Even more plus requires the purchase of the phone at retail for $499 while even more brings down the device cost to $200. Granted that you can split the $499 phone cost into 20 months worth of payments.

(Assuming you keep the phone for 24 months regardless of contract or not)

Some math now.
500/20 = $25
$70 (even more plus) x 24 (months) = $1680
$25 (Vibrant) x 20 (moths) = $ 500
Total = $2180

or

$90 (even more) x 24 (months) = $2160
$200 (VIbrant) = $200
Total = $2360

Is my math off somewhere or you save almost $200 by staying off contract (already a plus)?

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to pick one up today off contract. I rather pay more up front and have a smaller monthly bill. I won't hit 1000 minutes do I'm going with the 450 minute plan.
