Nothing for me either, here in NYC. I'm sure this is not Froyo, but the GPS fix we've been hearing about for ages.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an OTA. I contacted TMobile, here's the chat transcript:

You have been connected to ~Norman L.
~Norman L: Hi <name>, welcome to T-Mobile live Chat. I’m ~Norman, repID 1320688, and I will be happy to assist you. Please give me a moment to pull up your account.
    Me: Sure
~Norman L: I can definitely help with regards to updates. I cannot find any information regarding JI6 though. What is the model of phone you have?
    Me: Vibrant.
Me: Samsung tweeted today that JI6 is available for OTA update. I'd rather not wait since I've waited almost 3 months to get the GPS working already
~Norman L: I just recently heard from another customer about the tweet as well, this doesn't mean that the update has been released to us at T-Mobile yet though. At this time there is currently no update available.
Me: ???? If it hasn't been released to TMobile yet how can Samsung advertise an OTA?
Me: The entire way this debacle has been handled is NOT making me a happy camper
~Norman L: I am certainly sorry to hear you are not happy. It is possible that an update will be available soon if Samsung has announced it, but since they are the manufacturer they are obviously going to be able to announce information before carriers can.
~Norman L: However I know that for the Samsung Vibrant that all updates are over the air.
Me: Or I can get them and boot into recovery mode and load them manually.
Me: Looks like I'll be checking with Kies to see if Samsung has made that update available to us

Can anyone who updated via Kies before the JI5 update was pulled verify if they have received the OTA notification or update?

it is suggested that you remove any lagfix before updating early attempts ended up soft bricked

I got my update this morning, everything seemed to go fine except for one strange thing, the box in the settings I used to select to choose 2G instead of 3G to save battery is now gone, what gives? I do I switch back and forth now? Very confused. Other than that everything seems fine.

    Update

I figured it out in Mobile Network Settings you select network mode and choose between GSM(2G) and WCDMA(3G). I must say thought that they should make it a little easier to figure out for the layman.
