Default Surcharges and other nickle and dime fees?

Hi everyone, I'm considering switching my family plan from Verizon to T-Mobile and I'm wondering if T-Mobile tacks on all kinds of fees like Verizon.

Our current Verizon plan is about $140 a month, but we're paying over $180 a month between taxes (unavoidable) and Verizon surcharges and other fees, with the Verizon fees making up the majority of that. Now taxes will end up the same on any carrier, but I'm hoping to avoid over $25 a month of BS Verizon fees.

Does T-Mobile do this? I asked a T-Mobile rep through their web site, and she said no, but then said to make sure I check all the fine print before purchasing... which sounded to me like there could be added fees.

So I figured the only way to get a straight answer was to ask current T-Mobile customers. So, beside unavoidable government taxes and fees, does T-Mobile add any of their own fees and surcharges to your specified monthly plan charge?

    Thanks in advance.

The only additional charges you would have would be the $1.61 regulation fee and then the rest is tax. Everything else us just made up of the plan and features.

Obviously that doesn't take into account the possibility of overages, long distance/international, etc.

    Hope that helps!

Cool, thanks, yes, it definitely helps. Overages and tax are fine, I'm just looking to avoid Verizon's $25 per month worth of incomprehensible surcharges and fees.

Did you end up switching from Verizon to T-Mobile? We're looking at making the switch and was curious how your experience turned out.
