Looking for an android phone for husband please help!
Alright my husband works for US Cellular but we use TMobile and don't want to switch. He has this idea stuck in his head that the Electrify M or its cousin the Razr M are the phones he wants or at least something comparable to them. I keep telling him that the odds of finding a device that will work with T-Mo and still get software updates that are similar are very slim. I keep suggesting we get another Nexus 4 or even a Galaxy Nexus but he starts to pout. Am I wrong to keep telling him that getting either of those phones or comparable ones on our network is just going to mean a suck fest and compromise he won't like?

You can't go wrong with a Nexus 4. FIRST to get OTA updates straight from Google, high end specs for a super price, pure Android with no manufacturer or carrier bloatware and very fast on T-Mobile's network (up to 2X faster then on AT&T) and it's unlocked. Really... what more can your husband ask for?

The Nexus 4 is awesome, nothing to pout about. If he likes your Nexus 7 at all it seems like he'd be happy with the Nexus 4.

Razr M is a Verizon only device. Won't work on Tmobile. Nexus 4 would be my choice. He could get the Sammy Galaxy S3 as another option.

Yes! You're leaving out important information. He sounds like he knows his way around so if he doesn't want the Nexus 4 he probably has a reason. Without the important details all we can do is speculate. I would guess his problem with the Nexus 4 may have something to do with the non-user replaceable battery or the max 16GB of storage with no microSD slot BUT you mentioned that he wanted the Electrify M - a phone not offered by TMO, but available on US Cellular - his employer. Is he wanting to use an employee discount to purchase a US Cellular phone at reduced cost and jailbreak it to work on TMO?
The Electrify M won't work on TMO - it's a CDMA phone and TMO is a GSM/HSPA network so there's no way to make it work short of re-engineering the phone and soldering components. The RAZR M is a world phone - GSM/CDMA/HSPA/LTE so it is capable of working on TMO network but Moto disables their world phones from using a GSM sim from a US carrier (maybe your husband doesn't know this?). There are ways around that though provided you don't mind permanently disabling the phone's CDMA capabilities. The only reason I could think for him wanting a Moto phone is because they make world phones that can work on CDMA and GSM networks, but it would be easier just to get a GSM/HSPA phone - again the devil is in the details we don't have.
If your husband wants a Moto phone that can be made to work on TMO the RAZR HD, Photon Q and Atrix HD are also world phones that can be modified to work. I'm not sure WHY he would prefer a Moto phone since the last new one was released 5 months ago and much better phones have been released from Samsung, LG and even HTC in that time. In some circles (Sprint), Moto has a hard-earned reputation for promising users years of Android upgrades then losing interest and dumping them in a Gingerbread ghetto. The recent uptake in interest from Google in Moto's activities (focusing on the X phone, laying off thousands of engineers and developers and halting all other projects except for Verizon devices) has very dark and scary implications for supporting existing devices.

Since he won't listen to you, send him to the local T-Mobile store and let him pick something out. Then, wash your hands and walk away. :)
