I think for a good while. I am pretty sure it will still be around for the S5 .

You can make the switch ahead of time via pre order. They set up the account but it is not active until you get the phone, so you don't get charged for the time you don't have it. You then port your number once the S5 is reciecved.

Well, I think it might hang around for a bit.... or at least until it stops making sense financially.... but I just read an article that said that T-Mobile was starting to show measurable gains on the Big Two in terms of share.... A little over a year ago, they were almost left for dead, now they are the "It" carrier that's pulling all the right strings. As long as the ETF program keeps drawing in new customers in droves, and doesn't lose them too much money in the process, it'll stick around.

Of course, there's a second possibility... We are already starting to see both Verizon and AT&T do what was unthinkable; changing because of pressure from T-Mobile..... such as offering contract-free plans, etc.... We might see the ETF program die because ETFs themselves died.

Verizon doesn't offer a discount for being contract free, at least not in the sense of tmobile or att. You can get a discount when you sign up for edge for the duration of the edge contract. But once that is over your bill goes up to the non discounted rate .

I hope it lasts till the N6 is announced and out, as well as the new Moto (X)?
Still undecided if to take the plunge with Sprint currently deploying Spark and LTE everywhere.

I'm really looking for a future proof network....not just a 'now' network.

Heard that processor is really powerful and I always want the latest. I already have a lg optimus g pro so an s5 isn't that much of an upgrade.

The LG G3 or whatever they call or the Note 4 will probably have the 805 processor... Even then I took the Note 3 800 cpu over waiting a few weeks for the 801 because honestly its a minor upgrade and the note 3 has a wonderful screen + cpu already and 3 GB of Ram...

Yeah the 800 and 801 aren't that much of a difference, just clock speed.
