    Tmobile is temporarily offering free prepaid sims

    They do that from time to time. I wish they'd offer the SIMs that activate the Wal-Mart $30 plan.

    Their prepaid SIM cards do that. That's how I activated mine.

    Oh, that's right. Their web site says something like, "SIM kits bought at Wal-Mart or SIMs activated online at T-Mobile.com."

    Not an option when converting from post-paid.

    You need a new SIM for that anyway; you might as well just activate it on the website rather than doing it in the store.
