Any reason to choose Metro PCS over T-Mobile?

I'm going prepaid and can't. Both are $40/month prepaid for 3gb of data and unlimited music. Both use the same network. Is there any difference?

Not too many differences. Anything T-Mobile does may make it to MetroPCS (usually deals on phones and such stay with T-Mobile only). Also MetroPCS is de-prioritized over all T-Mobile data so sometimes that could mess with your data speeds.

How many minutes? I use the $30. walmart plan and get 5gb and as far as I can tell I get music free. I only get 100 minutes then .10 minute after used up.

Is it hard to port your number over with the Walmart plan? Coming from Verizon.

Might be you could call them and enquire.

Back before I started with it 2 years ago I seem to recall reading that some did port numbers on the plan. Things do change though.

The MetroPCS $30 plan is unlimited minutes and texts but only 2gb of data. I always had the unlimited plan.

There is no difference between these plans, however, if you go with Simple Choice prepaid on T-Mobile your data speed will match post paid customers which has no cap on speed..

Metro PCS and Simply Prepaid on T-Mobile caps data speed to 8 mbps, that's the fastest you can go on these prepaid plans..

If speed doesn't bother you, then either plan would be sufficient..
