called att customer care this am. asked to unlock phone from att.

rep says att forbidden by samsung, via contract, to unlock Nexus S. rep says no way to generate unlock code even if he wanted to do as a 'one time' courtesy for a long term customer.

just wow... no ICS update... no unlock/release from att to use on another carrier's SIM if traveling outside of usa...

ATT told me that they are not supporting the device. So, they are not doing an ICS OTA.

Samsung says nothing. Android says nothing.

I am going to go Iphone on Verizon.

Android has been a terrible experience in this regard. Fragmentation sucks.
