I want to say I am sorry for being negative. This phone, and all that surrounds it have been an amazingly negative experience. No, let me correct that. I like the phone and android just fine. But, AtT, Samsung, Best Buy, and Android have been horrible.

So, I am sorry. I was a dick.

So my Nexus S, on ATT is going back to Best Buy for the third time in 1 month.

That is 4 times in 2 months. The first was for soup.

The other three, were for ICS.

I got the phone back each time, popped in the sim, and off I went. Brand new phone. Re logged in, and the whole bit.

Then in a few moments the phone would tell me it has the OTA for ICS. So, I would do that.

Then, inevitably, there would be no signal left after the update, just an X.

The Best Buy girl said it looked like my Nexus S was reverting to CDMA, and not GSM.

Anyone ever hear of this?

Again, I am sorry.

Have you tried getting a new one and manually flashing the update?
