degrading software performance?

I've had the Nitro for a few days now and have mixed feelings about it. The most concerning thing to me right now is the terrible software performance. This seems to have gotten worse over the weekend. Launching apps takes a few seconds and the phone is sometimes unresponsive: almost how it acts when the battery is very very low. The browser "feel" is terrible compared to my previous iphone and friends' nexus and s ii. Is this just me? Any clues on what's causing it? I don't have much on it at all yet.
