Re: How can I get the update?
Hmm, i used the oneclick route method that uses the ATT software update exploit. I'm actually not sure if it installed a custom recovery, because I don't remember doing it myself. On my last phone I installed clockwork mod manually, but I didn't do it myself this time.

Re: How can I get the update?
Sounds like you then either need to unroot, or continue unlocking your phone... you are half in- half out right now.
If you do continue with the unlocking/custom recovery, make sure to install TWRP instead of CWM on this phone. CWM is available, but is old and not entirely functional nor supported for the HOX.
I have not unrooted before, but that might let you get the update OTA. - 08-19-2012, 06:49 AM

Re: How can I get the update?
I'm still in this spot. I "unrooted" with the HTC Quickroot 1.1.13. I couldn't get the update.
Then I rooted and unrooted again, and same thing. When I do the att software update, it just searches for a bit, and then goes back to the "check for update" screen, and doesn't give me any message. - 09-27-2012, 09:38 AM #7

Re: How can I get the update?
Yes, it is the locking, or unlocking, of the bootloader that wipes your phone. I would have guessed that unrooting would have been good enough to get it. You may want to troll in the Q & A Section over at xda here-
I would search that forum for a bit to see if your question has been asked, which it probably has and see. If not, start a new thread and ask. However, I think that RUU is the way to go. I think you are basically forcing the standard ATT update to install, and when you are done, you will be back to a bone stock 2.20 setup... including the inability to unroot (currently). That should mean you would be just fine for accepting future upgrades like a normal person though, which sounds like the way you want to go. I think this also might wipe you however, since you are not applying the update in the way that ATT does when pushing it out. I think either way, you are starting from a fresh install, factory reset phone. So long as you do not lock/unlock the bootloader though, I don't think you need to worry about losing the contents of the SD card.
