at&t update? changed model number on my phone

I have had my Samsung Galaxy note 3 for about 6 months now. I had an at&t update a few weeks ago and it seems my model number changed from an sgh-#### to sm-n900a. The problem I have is when I tried to root my phone, I couldn't find any information on this new "model".

I confess that I'm a newbie to android and rooting and I may be wrong and confused, so please forgive my ignorance.

Any Guru help would be massively appreciated.

After a little research, it looks like the model number for the at&t variant has always been SM-900A, with the A denoting at&t.

Other variants for the other carriers are the V, S and T for Verizon, Sprint and T-mobile.
