note 3 battery dying prematurely

My note has been off charger for 2 hours and its at 44% battery life. The phone is physically hot near the top. Anyone have any info to fix it?

One of 2 things more than likely; either an app or process gone rogue or a corrupt media file on your SD card if you have one installed. If you have an SD card installed try removing it and restart. See if the problem clears itself. If not, then a reset might be in order.
