Help. S4 notification sounds not working.

When someone texts me I can't seem to make the notification sounds work. Even in settings when i try to set the sounds from the choices it doesn't play the sound sample. Ring tones work fine. ???

Solved it. Forgot android had sound settings seperate for ringtone and notification. Notification was set silent from the factory.

I have an s3 and I was using the "Blocking Mode" feature on my phone which blocks phone calls, notifications, etc.,
During specified times of the day/night or "Always". Somehow the "Always" option got checked. Once I unselected that option, my notifications started working again.
