Unrooting for warranty?

So I DID do a search, however nothing came up too conclusive for the ATT specific phone.

I rooted my phone a couple days ago. But recently I found a hardware issue with the phone. I need to exchange this phone but I don't want the warranty to be voided. I have done a bunch of factory resets, which does unroot it, however there is still the 'unlock' symbol on reset, so obviously the phone is still showing as tamperred. (the hardware issue has nothing to do with me rooting the phone obviously).

What do I have to do to completely turn it back to factory?

I have found some results for something to do with ODIN (No idea what all this actually means), however all the posts were about the international versions of the phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This little trick won't fail? Just wanted to make sure just in case something happens with the hardware and I have to take it back? Been rooted forma week and just wanted to have a backup plan.

There is a tool called Odin that can put stock unrooted. Also Kies may be able to do that.
