wifi won't stay on

My wifi won't stay connected and won't remember the password for the connection. The signal strength is very strong and it asks for the password nearly every time. Once in a while it says saved, secure. Then I will look and the wifi has turned itself off, and I have to reenter the password. Yesterday it stayed on all day, then today it wouldn't connect even after I put in the password and it said it had connected. The icon showed up in the top bar, then went away. I have taken out the battery and rebooted several times. I have turned off the att hotspot and the stay on all night feature. Other times it scans over and over. Any suggestions?
