AT&T Galaxy S4: Contacts Question

Okay so am not sure what's going on here. When I click on my contacts they show up fine but when I go into text messages and push on contacts all of them appear, how do I configure this so just my phone contacts appear?

What other contacts are showing up in the Messaging app? Are they from other apps, like Facebook or Twitter?

1) Enter ALL your contacts as Google contacts. In the event that you lose your phone, it gets damaged or stops working, you get a new phone, etc., etc., "recovering" the contacts just happens, you don't have to do anything except put your gmail account into the new phone and set it to synchronize contacts.

2) All your contacts should show up when you go to Contacts from the messaging app.
