I'm sorry guys, I think I'll be the first to jump back on the iPhone ship. After a few months of using the Infuse, I severely miss my iPhone and iOS. I left iPhone because I got bored with it, but next time I feel that way, I'll just buy a new case.

Here’s just a few reasons why I’m switching back:

• The touch screen - The iPhone's touch screen is way more responsive and intuitive. It really follows my touch. I find myself tapping the wrong spot or mistyping often with the Infuse. I also find that it lags majorly. I've even tried resetting it back to stock.
  
• The iPod. Boy it sucks carrying an iPod (in this came, my old iPhone) and my phone when I go running. The music player on the iPhone is so much better. Can't wait for the iCloud as well. I think it bites that I can't use the Twitter app on my Android b/c it jacks up my music on my music player.
  
• ... I hate to say this next one, but the screen size. Does anyone else have an issue with finding the right placement of the earpiece when talking on the Phone? Thank goodness I use the build in bluetooth in the car, but at times when I'm just using the phone, I catch myself trying to turn up the volume, when in fact that phone is just not placed right. This is most likely an ***** error, but still, never had the issue with the iPhone. As much as I love the Infuse screen, the gorgeous colors, the rich, deep blacks! It's super awkward to hold and even text, which I thought would be easier. Don't get me started on the Netflix thing.
  
• The App/App Store - I miss the iOS app store. Compared to the Marketplace, the App Store has a wider variety and more stable apps. I find that my Android apps crash all the time. Maybe it's my phone? Facebook is HORRIBLE. I wish Google+ would catch on already because it’s a really decent app.
  
• Infuse is slow. I re-boot my phone every now and then, and it takes forever to reload. Frustrating.
  
• Bluetooth on the Infuse is hit or miss when it auto syncs to my car.
  
• The buttons on the bottom - pointless. It just makes it difficult to hold. I feel like I always accidentally touch these buttons, and the buttons dim after only a few seconds.

What I'm going to miss about my Infuse/Android

• The gorgeous screen quality
• THE WIDGETS!
• The discreet notifications (next iOS update is fixing this, problem solved)
• YouTube videos play clearer and audio quality is better
• The customization
• ***FLASH***
• The amazing Camera and Video
• Navigation (often better than my Lexus' built in)

In conclusion, the iPhone just works for me. I own a mac, an iPad2, AppleTV , and am just used to the OS. The iPhone syncs beautifully with my music, photos, cal and email. It just works right out of the box. No need to download Juicedefender to save my battery, no need to buy additional SD cards. Most of my friends and family have the iPhone. I'll be able to take advantage of the free iPhone messenger app that's coming up. The Infuse is truly a beautiful phone, but just not for me. This is going to be my second time that I come crawling back to the iPhone. First time was when I cheated on it with blackberry. I’ve had my fling, but at night, I know that I should come home to iPhone.

Nuthin wrong with goin back the infuse huh? Heh! I hear people say they hate a phone, and I can only think to myself, hate is a strong word, and it is just a phone. So ya starting a case collection?

I have no problem with android or iphone, its all about does your phone suit your needs. With all the apple products you already own, its logical to stick with the mobile os you know.

Hey, no stoning here:-) I know what it's like to move from one OS to another. I was on a BB for 7 years before moving to Android. Talk about culture shock! I miss a lot of the things BB used to do well, like the keyboard and email management. I do fumble around with the Infuse, hitting the capacitive buttons at the bottom off and on (one thing I like about the Droid X - hard buttons at the bottom so harder to press them by mistake), typos galore using the keyboard, and hitting the darn return key by mistake when browsing the web and causing it to quit. The thing is, even though the BB did some things really well that I really miss, it did other things I couldn't live with, so I had to move on. I need a large, hi-res screen because I use the phone for a lot of work, so it works for me. You have to go with what works for you. All these phones are incredible devices in my opinion, so I really don't think you can go wrong no matter which one you choose as long as it's the right phone for you. Don't worry. Be happy!:-)

No stoning from me either. Like you, I'm a Mac and have used Macs since they first appeared. I have an iPad 2 and iPod, but the iPhone just isn't for me. In the end, the bottom line is a matter of choice.

I hear you and honestly.... I think I am in the same boat. Not sure if it is just the phone but the stability of this Infuse leaves little to be desired. I am constantly getting non-responsive screens and random reboots. And even then I find myself rebooting it daily because the phone freezes for one reason or another. Not to mention.... everything is available for the iPhone. One of my biggest annoyances is that there still is not ONE car stereo deck that works with android. I mean really!

And I hate to admit it..... But 4.5" is too big. I tend to text in portrait mode the most and the buttons on the far left (right-handed) are just a hair too far of a stretch to reach with my thumb. All in all.... I am glad I tried out the Android, and would certainly never go back to a iPhone 4 as I don't think it is any better than the 3GS I had before the Infuse. But when the iPhone 5 drops and as long as it has a 4" screen, I am back on the apple bandwagon. Now if the iPhone 5 doesnt have a 4" screen than I will downsize to the samsung Galaxy S2. But yeah....I've noticed that after the novelty wore off, I found that I miss my iPhone.

And then there is the throttleling of Data even though I am grandfathered into the unlimited plan. Wishing more than ever I had made the switch to Verizon back in April....

Well, before we question the phone's stability, can we stop and ponder whether perhaps the device is defective? It happens, you know. Think about this, for example, Nine months with my iPhone 3G in hand, I ran into problems. Not to go into gory details, the phone was simply bricking. Apple, of course, was very kind and helpful. They replaced the phone and gave me a refurbished iPhone 3G. I walked out of the store and by the time I got to the garage, the phone was frozen again. I went back and got my 3rd iPhone 3G. That phone worked for less than a week. Once again, Apple replaced it. The 4th iPhone 3G stayed healthy until Apple upgraded the system to the version that allowed multitasking. That phone was never the fast thing it used to be. Apps began taking long to load. The calendar was painfully slow, and so on and on. Now with the Infuse, I have had not one single problem. Call quality is even better. But don't take my word for it. Read the latest Consumer Reports and see what phone they rated the best AT&T phone. Yes, it is the Samsung Infuse. I'm a happy Infuse user and Apple user, too -- just not an iPhone customer.

My iPhone 4 isn't that stable. My wifes 3Gs was stable until today. I just can't keep giving Apple any more money so I refuse to go back. I told my wife if her iPhone keeps locking up she's getting an android phone.

Apple does FEW things right. The music player is pretty good. iTunes is ONLY good for syncing music. I have yet to find anything close for the android.

Everyone gets to make a choice and don't apologize for going back. If that's what you feel most comfortable with then by all means do so.

That's just what I was thinking. I haven't had any problems at all with my Infuse. That alone, makes me think he got a defective one. Still, aside from that, I think the switch from one OS to the other is troublesome for him. I also came from a Blackberry. Have had a Blackberry for many years and they have always worked pretty well but they were not very friendly to customization. I got the Infuse because my Berry Torch stopped working because of the slider and i didn't want to return it for a refurb knowing the same issue would arise again soon. So i went with the Infuse. I am an IT Engineer so i play with all kinds of phones all week long for my customers. A lot of them have gone to Android phones and they all loved them. Especially so was the Droids so i was curious. I went with the Infuse because of the big screen period nothing else really mattered to me. I got the Ballistic case when I bought it and it has worked well for me as i need to carry it on my belt. I have loaded Infused 1.5.3 and 2.0.0 I am now on 1.5.3 because the GB 2.0.0 was just too unstable for my tastes. I am really waiting for AT&T GB to be released to see how nice this phone can really be. Apple stuff just annoys me to no end very inflexible and very hard to support from an IT perspective although they have a huge following.

I'm trying to get my wife to go to an Android phone from her iPhone. That would just leave us with the iPad which I would let my kids use and I'll go get a Galaxy 10.1. I'm just so sick of Apple. Gordon Ung, the editor at Maximum PC summed it up well in his last editorial in the Mag.

I am in the same situation. I had a 3gs now I have the infuse 4g. HATE IT! I was in the process of taking it back and now they say my battery got wet from the steam from the shower. WTF! And it already has a little scratch on it. Apparently I can't handle it. I had my iPhone for three years and it still works. No cracks no moisture.

I know what you mean, and even today I'm still giving the Infuse a chance.First I had a ruff start with a bad batch of defective Infuses.Then finally got one that was stable, but some how touch wiz became disabled during an uninstall if pro launcher, which caused the home screen to be blank.I tried flashing it my self but couldn't figure that out, so I sent it to Samsung, got it fixed, and now giving it another round.This phone is great at some things,but at times I know that it doesn't have the same things that my Black berry had.It has taken awhile to get used to this phone, and I can't wait till the next OS update to see what bag of goodies we'll all get.

That's been the problem with Android devices all along. There just have been so many issues with the handsets. I don't really know why there are so many issues but it seems to be a problem.

I'd have to say I agree with the OP on this one for a lot of the same reasons. I have a Motorola Atrix, which I have had for a few months & I am really missing my iPhone. One thing I really hate about my Atrix is playing Words With Friends. It never updates well when someone else plays a word. I can close the game out & restart it and it still won't show the other person has played a word. Then all of a sudden I get notified minutes to hours later that the other person played a word when they actually played the word right after me. It'll say they played their word like 6 hours ago, which is correct. It never did that on my iPhone. It would update almost instantly, and I know it's Android and not just my phone because I know others with different Android phone & it does it to them too. That is just one thing that drives me insane! Plus, most of the other things the OP posted about why they miss their iPhone. Looks like I'll be going back when the iPhone 5 comes out. I really wanted to like Android too. Oh well, it happens!

Why can't you have best of both worlds? Most of you already own the iPhone unless you sold it. My 3GS is now my iPod touch. So I'm not missing anything. I use it for games if I want to when i'm home or listen to music in the car. If i'm at work, I work. Not getting angry about delays of words with friends. Android accomplishes all other things besides games. There was a time when we didn't rely so much on our phones to make it through our day.

I sold my iPhone & I'm kicking myself for it. I miss a lot about my iPhone. But, I do like that Android is so customizable, unlike the iPhone that needs to be jailbroken. But, I still miss my iPhone.

The latest version of Words with friends seems to fix the issue stated. It now allows you to pick an interval that it will check for new words.

I was at first enamored with my infuse, I love android , i love the superamoled plus technology.. however samsung keeps on disappointing me time after time with the hardware quality of the phones. From my issues with the captivate I thought I would never own a samsung phone again.

My infuse recently decided to not charge or not be recognized via USB cable on my computer. Went through several chargers/battery and still no dice. Figure its a defective port. AT&T is no help.. all they did was send me on my way with a number to call warranty so I could wait a whole week for a phone to be mailed to me. Find out during some research, that others have had this problem .

I then realized how carefree having an Iphone was. I never worried about defective phones/rebooting/software issues ,because If i did have a problem , I could walk out of an apple store right that very moment with a phone in hand! no downtime! I am sorry to say, but I will be selling my infuse once I get it in the mail and waiting a month for the new Iphone.. these manufacturers just can't get it right!

Nope, I have the latest version. It still does it. I've had 3 different Android phones & they all were like that. It's very annoying. It crashes here & there too. Was never like that on my iPhone.
