Loss of Pics

Every time my battery dies or is taken out I lose all of my pictures. Where do they go? Any way to recover them. I had tons of pics and the gallery is now empty.

Are you messing with the sd card in the process?

It'll take awhile for your phone to upload the sd card too show what's present on the card.Are you using an external micro sd card or putting it on the phones internal sd?
