I moved to the Galaxy Slll after having the IPhone 3Gs for about two years. With the IPhone I could text message and surf, although surfing and Facebook was spotty at times. Now with the Galaxy I may as well leave my Galaxy at home. It is of very little to no use at work. I've tried switching from the AT&T signal to the WI-FI and it doesn't help. Let me see if any of you have any suggestions for me to increase my signal reception in that darn place.

That's surprising because the 3GS had a horrible antenna and didn't get good reception. I had one and in places where it would show no reception I now get a couple of bars with my Samsung. You might want to try another phone or if you are outside your trial period exchange it for another SIII.

For what it's worth Samsung phones are known for good reception pretty much across the board, whereas HTC phones and iPhones are known for reception issues. The iPhone 5 may be the exception here as Apple has been working hard to correct the problem. Motorola phones, before the division was sold off, were the absolute best.

Interesting my iPhone 3GS had great reception. Generally when most people had to hang up in the building elevator I could keep on talking with no problems. I don't remember ever dropping a call with my 3GS. The sound quality was also great. I recently just used the phone again for a business trip to Europe using a German SIM and was again pretty impressed by the sound quality and the signal strength. I switched to an Android phone for the larger screen size, SD card support and ability to carry spare batteries. But I never had any complaints about sound quality and signal strength.
