go to settings > under account tap open the Google account > under Google tap on the Google ID again and you will see a option to remove the account.

I followed your instructions and the problem was solved partially. however, only managed to solve completely removed when the main account and then added. It was show! Thank you all.

Clearing cache and data on any google frameworks, playstore or service doesn't work. Just makes thing worse for you. Its actually a lot simpler then people are saying. I had this same prob lem and tried everything with no luck. But aftr much trial and error I found that all you need to do to reset google playstore to download and update is to sign out of your google account. You can do this by going to Settings--- scroll down to where it says accounts and select Google---- then click on tour account that is attached to the Playstore ( I have several accounts attaches to google on my phone. You may only have the one so just click on it.) ----- then scroll down and make sure everything has a check mark in the boxes so that all your data and anything else is synced and saved ---- then at bottom of screen you should have the option to remove account--- after you select that it'll ask you are you sure because you can lose call logs, messages, and contacts. Selecr ok n no worries if everything synced it'll all come back when u sign back in--- then go to playstore and it'll ask you to sign in to google account--- click existing sign in with user name and password with the account you just removed and attempt to download any app and voila!! No more error.

If by chance it does come up again then go into your settings--- then apps---- then google playstore--- uninstall all updates --- then repeat all the steps above and it'll be fixed.

Let me know if this helps.

On the Samsung Galaxy S3 that worked for me too!
First remove your Google account, go to Settings and scroll down to Accounts then select Google. At the top where it shows your e-mail address tap it then at the bottom of the page tap Remove account. Ignore all the dire warnings and follow it through until it's gone.
Now do the removal of the cache and data by going to Settings > Applications Manager >All and scroll down to Google Play Services. Tap this and Clear Cache, Clear Data and Force Stop.
Now go back one step and do the same for Google Play store, Clear Cache, Clear Data and Force Stop. Now do it for Google Services Framework too.
Go back to the main menu and select Add account then Existing account and sign in with your username (usually your e-mail address) and password and agree to all until the account is created.
Now reboot the phone and viola! There will be a prompt about accepting Google terms, location settings etc. just agree and suddenly all your apps will be back and updating good as new!

Many thanks to all who helped on this one! :)

Ugh...didnt work for me, now I have nothing in my list. And in my "ALL" tab I get the same error ( [RPC:S-5:AEC-0] ) It's odd as my online account is messed up too, for apps I've purchased it shows then as not purchased, if I try to install it via the web it give an error. This just all of a sudden started happening with me account.

I have tried all of these fixes on both my tablet tab2 7 and phone galaxy s4. tech support has escalated it for me and said she will get back to me in 48 hours. she agrees that it must be a play store problem as it happened to 2 devices.

I have encountered the same server error on two separate phones and am also showing no installed apps in My Android Apps in Google Play on my computer. I am even now receiving another error when attempting to make the re-purchase of a paid app, "Error receiving information from server [BM-PPH-01]". This is frustrating.

At&t Replaced my Galaxy Note due to this issue. Apparently, replacing my device proves that Google messed things up on there end cause i still have the same problem.

i have also a 7HD tab i have a same problem as yours but when i go to settings then APPS i can't find the playstore :( ang marketplace services ! i dont know why buta theres no playstore on my ALL APPS ! :((((

THANK YOU SO MUCH :)) it woRk :))

This is sad. I first had the no connection problem, fixed that now have this problem and have tried all of these and nothing. if I have to reset this phone again I might be done with android. I don't root or do custom roms but still these kind of problems and the no connect thing is the second time it did it.

Can someone PLEASE twist Google's arm right up their back so that they are forced to get off their lazy arses and fix this effing problem. The "Google Play Store - Clear Cache/ Google Services Framework - Clear Data" remedy doesn't work. The delete your account remedy doesn't work. I've even deleted the Play Store - using Titanium Pro - and then re-installed the apk. NOTHING REMEDIES THIS ATROCIOUS ERrOR in the OS. Unfortunately, this is entirely in the hands of Google -- they created the problem; they need to fix it AND FAST. According to Titanium Pro I have 423 Apps installed on my Galaxy S3 and about one third of those are paid apps. So this is not just a simple case of some hick whose got a freebie that doesn't work. This is coming from somebody who has given Google his dough in both advertising revenue and their commission on the sales that I've paid for. Their absolute silence on the subject is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. They have one simple post on their forum page which states that they are working on the problem and they'll come back when they've got a fix. THIS POST WAS IN MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where the eff are they????

The Google post to which I refer is here:
and it reads as follows:

[#7582577] "RPC:S-5:AEC-0" error when downloading or updating apps

We?ve received reports that some users are getting "RPC:S-5:AEC-0" while trying to download apps.
