OK, I was never perfectly happy with the Chumby and then Sony versions, but they offered reasonable live content which rotated and scrolled between news, rss feeds and weather and other entertainment kinda stuff.

With cheap Android tablets at $60 these days and Sony announcing they are shutting down their backend next month, I need to switch over to tablet running an app(s) that is free running and can do some of the same kind of things. The key is free running and not needing ANY user input (other than initial setup selections). Most of the time the Sony Dash just sits on the counter retrieving news and displaying it in near-real time for a minute, then weather for a minute, then celebrity news for a minute, etc etc etc. That's what I am looking for.

Anyone have an App recommendation for this?
