Spent an hour at Best Buy
And I still can't decide which tablet I want. I spent most of my time with the Galaxy 10.1. But the Xoom looked pretty cool too.
I plan on buying one within a month.

Re: Spent an hour at Best Buy
It seems like you are in the market for a 10.1 inch size tablet since you mentioned the Galaxy 10.1 and the Xoom. I would go with the Samsung 10.1. You said that you spent the most time with it in the store. Just go with it! I bet you won't regret it. I believe best buy has a 14 day return policy so, use it constantly during that time to test it out. Hope this helps.

I'm leaning more toward the Galaxy only because it's newer, and I can get a 32gig. Lets see which one is cheaper when I go to buy it.

Re: Spent an hour at Best Buy
Before you decide go to a store like Office Depot. Next week they will have 7 or 8 different tablets on display.
Yesterday I was there and played with the Asus tablet; liked it a lot. It's only $399 and it has an optional keyboard available. Don't limit yourself to only 2 to choose from. Best Buy is not the only store...Android user since the very first T-Mobile G1... - 07-08-2011, 07:15 AM #7Sent from my Verizon Galaxy Note 2, Verizon Galaxy S3, or N7, or MacBook Air

used to be a fan of Samsung's screens and form factor. but it sucks at updating its devices.
paul here who apparently is a xoom owner also like me is right though that the 4g update is running a bit late.
so it's up to you. personally, I like the ff about my xoom:
a) US xoom is Google flagship device. it gets updates first simply because the updates are made there.
b) it feels solid. that makes it heavier but I can take the extra weight.
c) it can read usb, and has a micro hdmi port I can connect to my screen. ( useful for game emulators and movies of course)
d) it has a microSD slot.
e) it charges quickly.

Re: Spent an hour at Best Buy
I spent about 30-40 mins and tinkered with GT 10.1, Asus Transformer and Toshiba Thrive. Love the thinness of the GT 10.1; but want the expandability and ports offered by the others. Transformer is my current leading choice; but i'll revisit the xoom wifi now that 3.2 is arriving bringing microsd and other fixes

Re: Spent an hour at Best Buy
I really liked the Transformer partly due to the dock options but the Acer is looking good with since the $399 price point is coming. Is the Acer as good as the Thrive and Transformer? Seems to have similar specs but does not seem to get much attention. Reviews show it as having the same specs of the Xoom as well.
The Acer is big but seems to be built sturdy and the Thrive is no baby either. Really don't need a tablet but seem to want one LOL - 07-17-2011, 06:49 AM #13
