Auto resize wallpaper when going to/from landscape/portrait mode?

I have a Pixel 6a.. How can I make my home screen wallpaper resize itself so it fits on the screen when I rotate the phone from portrait to landscape? The home screen wallpaper is 1080x2400 I believe. I don't even remember this being an issue in the past on any of my other phones.

tried it. Portrait stretches the image a little off the screen but landscape still is the wrong resolution.

I don't think anything can be done on the pixel launcher that i can see maybe try Nova launcher

Is the problem that when in landscape, the wallpaper shows the full portrait image (i.e., with black bars on both sides)? On my 7 Pro, when I set a custom wallpaper using the Pixel Launcher, rotating to landscape will cause the wallpaper to zoom in so that the wallpaper still fills the screen.

No black bars. Wallpaper fits the screen width and height but it's zoomed in like 300x

I think that's unavoidable, especially if you have a portrait-orientation image as a custom wallpaper.
