Can someone tell me what are all these apps and their use on LG G7 please?

Hi. I recently installed an app on LG G7 that scans for viruses and security. The scan showed I have 131 apps that can store and access information on my device. Needless to say, its concerning in the least. My knowledge is very limited as to what the different applications mean and what they do. I will list them here as Im not sure what else do to. I have been searching for hours online typing in each and every one of them but mostly I am more confused than when I started. thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance for taking the time to help me.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum, since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

Being able to store and access information on your phone is a basic function of almost all apps, so I wouldn't be overly worried about that permission. I would also be cautious about 3rd party security apps, since some of them are of questionable value and/or integrity (like anything from Cheetah Mobile or 360 Security). The big names are probably safe (like Malwarebytes, Norton, McAfee, etc.), but even then, they're probably not adding much (unless you like to frequent shady websites or install shady apps from non-Play Store sources).

Here are my general recommendations to keep your phone safe:

For the most part, it's still quite difficult to get an actual virus on your phone, because malware requires you to manually accept the installation (which is why they try to fool you into thinking you're installing something legitimate). Use common sense:

1. Avoid shady websites that deal with things like porn, gambling, and "free" (aka pirated) apps/music/movies.

2. Never ever tap on a link that appears in a popup while browsing, especially if they're warning you that your phone is infected -- they're just trying to scare you into installing some bogus "antivirus" app that is probably malicious itself.

3. Only install apps from well-established app sources like Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore. Read a bunch of app reviews before installing an app to look for any complaints about adware or suspected malware.

4. Turn on Google Play Protect features in Settings>Google>Security. This allows Google to periodically scan your phone's apps to look for malware.

5. Turn off "Unknown Sources" in Settings>Security. This prevents any app that wasn't obtained from Google Play Store from being installed (which could include malicious apps that are inadvertently downloaded).

Ya unfortunately " LGMAPUI" is not harmless what so ever . Whoever got ahold of ur phone or whichever way downloaded a horrid spyware that can SEE EVERYTHING You do through camera!!!!? HEAR everything and can take every piece of info. I see this post is older but omg get a new phone and sim bb

Ya unfortunately " LGMAPUI" is not harmless what so ever . Whoever got ahold of ur phone or whichever way downloaded a horrid spyware that can SEE EVERYTHING You do through camera!!!!? HEAR everything and can take every piece of info. I see this post is older but omg get a new phone and sim bb
