Question Cant get my messages

I have a Samsung galaxy s9 all of a sudden I can't get my voice mail messages. I can't even put in my code it just shuts off

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about calling in to your voicemail number? Or are you using visual voicemail?

Voicemail is typically handled by your carrier, so you may want to contact their customer service as well.

I'm calling in. When I get a voicemail I tap it like I have for years, it won't do anything but go back to the phone screen.

It normally asks for my 4 digit code but it wont

Check with your carrier. There may be a setting in the Phone app to edit the number that the phone calls to access your voicemail -- if this number is incorrect, then the carrier can tell you the correct number.

How does the number get changed?

It shouldn't get changed, but maybe something glitched. Or did you swap SIMs from different carriers recently? That might also cause an issue. Regardless, the carrier's customer support should still be helpful.
