Daily Chrome high mobile data usage notification

I have a monthly 2gb data limit w/Sprint - its a week and I'm almost at 1GB with normal usage.

Chrome is always at the top on data usage:

I'm using data saver
I have Chrome on Lite mode
Allow background data usage is set to off
Allow app. while data saver is on is turned off

How else can I lower chrome data usage?
Use the Samsung Internet loaded on the phone?
Any other browser that's very low on data usage?

Turn syc off and long press chrome tap info scroll to permission turn off location . See if that helps
