I can't download to my PC WhatsApp photos

[Android Central Question]

I am unable to download photos received via WhatsApp on my phone. Sometimes I can see them as thumbnails and most of the time when downloading via Photoshop Elements they show as corrupted files. I have now installed the My Phone Microsoft App to link my phone to my PC and via the App I can only see pictures taken with my phone but none of those received via WhatsApp.

You doing this with cable ?
If they backed up to your Google photos just sign into your Google account on computer to see or download them .

Welcome to Android Central! First, identify which directory WhatsApp uses for its downloads -- it's probably /Pictures/Whatsapp, but if you don't see that directory, then you may have to search around with a file manager app to find it. Then connect the phone to your PC via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon to make sure it's set to MTP/File Transfer, then use Windows File Explorer to drag and drop the photos from that directory to your hard drive.
