I purchased a Sony blu-ray dvd with streaming, wifi, etc last summer.
Excited to see all it did, I tried screen mirroring. IT WORKED!
Well since then my phone had updates etc & I was working long hours and didnt use my blu-ray except for netflix which was already installed.
Since mid November 2014, I have tried everything to figure out my screen mirroring again.
All I get is once my device (the blu-ray) is found after turning on screen mirroring, it tries to connect and then "Failed to connect via screen mirroring"!
What is going on?
My Sony blu-ray is BDP-S5100 and I have Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Are you rooted? Are you running a custom kernel? If yes then that is the issue. You have to run stock kernel for screen mirroring to work. One other thing to check is make sure this line of text is in your build.prop at the very end.

Wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
