This is not a stupid question! Thanks for the inquiry, your phone has to be rooted and have a screenshot app such as ShootMe. For an easy, one click root, look for z4 on the Market. This is so far the best and easiest method to root your Galaxy S phone!

If you have 2.2 just hold the back button and then press the home button at the same time... the screenshot will atomaticcaly get saved in a folder called captured.

Its hooked up with nero v5 and voodo lagfix.. now just waiting for HTC Sensation.... but even with this setup on the vibrant my phone is flawless and kicks ass in numbers and speed.
