Samsung Galaxy S3 is totally sead after ending Vodafone contract

After ending a long term Vodafone contract that had not been used for over a year, the phone is now totally dead, it does not work with any other active sim card and does not switch on at all.

Verify that your device has IMEI/MEID intact. Vodafone may have killed your IMEI, especially if left a bill owing when they disconnected you. If they killed your IMEI then the phone is useless unless you replace the IMEI with another one, but that is illegal in most places.

They may have blacklisted your phone instead of killing your IMEI. If that is the case then your phone is still usable on another network but you'll have to pay any bills you owe to Vodafone before they will release the device, once you get that straight with them you'll be able to use the device on another network.
