Is the crackling only heard through the main speaker, and not using wired or Bluetooth headphones? If it's only the main speaker, it could be typical distortion--how high is your volume set?

The speaker might be blown. Can you compare with someone else with a Note 4? Or bring it in to your wireless store and compare it there.

Does the crackling persist even when the volume is pretty low? If not, then it's either distortion or a blown speaker. If it's there, then it has something to do with the device's sound processing.

I just tested it out on low volume and i can still hear the crackling when i put my ear to the speaker. So would this be a like hardware software issue. How does that work. Appreciate the advice btw thank you

Another member in another thread suggested adjusting your equalizer settings to lower the bass and increase the midrange or treble.

I thought the EQ would also affect other sounds. Adjust it and see what happens. Also go to Settings>Sound, and see if there is an EQ option there.

Latinking91, I feel your pain. If you search my threads, I have two dealing with the ear speaker sounding distorted/blown. Whenever anyone speaks there is a buzzing distortion to their words. It has been really annoying. Sent in my note 4 twice, both times they basically said it passed their QC and sent it back. The second time, I called CS and got it escalated to a manager. They pulled it from their outgoing packages and replaced "LED and component". It shipped back to me today, so hopefully soon I'll get to see if things are better. Unfortunately you have to be a pushy pita to get anything done, but hopefully I can now get back to enjoying my awesome note 4.....as well as actually hear people clearly on calls, lol.

I had this crackling on all my sound output, lasted a day or so then all the sound died, this was after 2 months of owning it from new.
Replacement from Samsung has been fine for the last 13 months:)

My Note 4 just started making a crackling noise every time I turn it on. (only) It's been doing other things too and I blame it on a update they did. But Samsung won't say anything about such a thing. I love my Note, but I'll never get another.

I got a pyle 12 inch bluetooth speaker with 12 volt battery that pops loud rhythmic like a metronome even when every knob is at zero, is it the amplifier inside of it? Not sure what else, any of yall know?
