Why aren't my contacts appearing while dialing?

Contact Not Appearing While Dialing

When I start typing letters on the dialer, certain contacts do not appear in the list of available options. For example, I opened the dialer and typed "PELK" but no contacts with PELK in their name appeared. Other contacts with letters based on the keys used did appear.

Is there a setting on the contact record or the dialer that determines which contacts appear as you start dialing based on letters?

Welcome to Android Central! What field is "PELK" in? Name, Company, etc.? Perhaps some fields aren't searchable.
