Default OEM 1400mAh battery made by multiple companies?

Anyone else who has purchased extra OEM HTC 1400mAh batterys notice there is 2 different designs and companies that seem to make the batters. Wonder if that is why we are seeing different results in battery life and really makes ton of conversation semi-invalid being we all assumed we had same parts across the board. Just got my latest Thunberbolt yesterday and OEM battery is different model number up and different company and design is altered from one I got on release day. Is this typical of HTC to have batteries made for OEM purchase from numerous companies. I was always under the impression they got a contract and locked in accessories for stock parts from one place.

Anyways food for thought and here is model information on battery

    Release date TB:
    Made by Guangzhou TWS - Part # 35H00142- 08M

    May 18th TB:
    Made by Techcharm - Part # 35H00142- 09M

I think it's typical of virtually all phone manufacturers. Except possibly Apple, 'cuz they own everything. Not only batteries, but internal components as well.

Yup, the original that came with the phone is an HTC, the 2nd one I got from VZW is a PDC.

There are also at least 2 slightly different 1400 mAh batteries branded as HTC. Noticed early on but it doesn't really explain the differing and inconsistent reports about battery life. Some people have very different impressions from day to day. There's lots of variables, but no one has yet documented that one HTC battery lasts longer than another one. Multi-sourcing is very common in manufacturing. It's all done to spec.

As I found out in an E-mial I posted a while ago from HTC they Do NOT manufacture the batteries for their devices. They have specs that the manufactures have to meet from HTC. It goes without saying that there are more then one 3rd party manufacturer making OEM batteries for HTC devices.

It certainly wouldn't be unusual for a phone manufacturer like HTC to have more than one battery supplier. It helps protect against supply disruptions and lets HTC get a better deal by playing suppliers against one another.

Okay so maybe these two I bought aren't counterfeit after all they are the later model mentioned in the original post. I should've searched first.
