I allowed the app to update the other day. Now it force closes when I try to allow new apps su access. Anyone else? Thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling the version I used when rooting. That version worked great.

I am having fc issues with superuser also since the update. I also have a thunderbolt. I had fc's with the stock rom rooted and I just flashed BAMF Son of a Bliss and still having fc issues. For me, it appears to only fc when I have the always remember option selected - its annoying, but if I deselect that option, it works fine.

Sounds like something I'll try thanks.

Well it still force closes but it grants access. Was messing with shootme to see how well it worked. At least I can take pictures even after su force closes.

What I ended up doing was going back through the rooting process and reflashing the superuser app that was placed on the SD card. It is working perfectly now on SU 3.0.4. I refused to update the binaries though because I think that's what caused the issue in the first place.

I planned on doing that. I had no issues until it updated. Glad to know it worked.

Well mine was easier than that to fix. I went into applications and was about to uninstall su when I had the option to uninstall updates. Ran that and all is well now.

Awesome. I tried that a bunch of times, but I guess it was too corrupted. Glad to hear you got it working. :)

I am having the same problem...I tried uninstalling the updates and the problem continues...anyone have other ideas?

Found the fix for the SU FC over on the Bamf forum..thanks to darel1705....

For those with Superuser issues, they started with version 3.0.4. Also, but not confirmed, this seesm to only be an issue on Sense based ROMs.

Revert back to an older version if possible. The last known working version was 3.0.2. I believe that version and others can be found here. Use the efgh versions. Uninstall updates to Superuser then download and flash in recovery.
Here

Don't forget to uninstall the updates to the 3.05 SU (-;..then flash the 3.02...all looks good now.

That is the route I was headed if uninstalling updates didn't fix it. Guess i'm one if the lucky ones where the removal of the updates worked.

I am attempting to revert back to 3.0.2. Thought Settings, I uninstalled the updates, which was listed v 3.0.5, and after uninstalling the updates, the v listed was 3.0.2.

What about the binary updates, should those not be updated until a fix is concrete?

It seems there is also a problem that BB is stating that my SD card is not mounted, and can't install BB because not enough space. Any fix for, or how do I get my SD card to mount?

What other steps has anyone else taken?

Thank you.

I'm not sure about the binaries being updated. My take on it is that updating the binaries is what screwed up my Superuser in the first place. It's working fine now on "outdated" binaries, so why should I bother updating them? I'm going to leave it alone for now. :)

You should only update to the latest version if your current version is giving you problems. I finally got SU 3.0.5 working on Android 2.3.4 Gingeritis and it's asking to update binaries. No way...

FIX!!!

everyone ive talked to that has had this problem with force closes has been able to fix it (including myself) by doing the following:

go to this youtube video: How to Root - HTC Thunderbolt (No Data Wipe! Newest & Fastest) - YouTube

at the very bottom of the video description you will find several links... dowload the "SU Zip" file and reflash it in clockwork recovery. this will revert your SU to v2.3.6.3 and your binary to v2.3.2-efgh

anyway, ever since reverting to these version i have had zero problems with SU force closes or issues with my apps not being allowed root access...

hope this help you all out.
