I've never used Clockworkmod Tether, but from what I've read it does work, even with non-rooted phones. Problem is though that it is NOT a hotspot...it allows use of a USB (wired) tether of phone's internet connection to a PC. Judging by the description, I also get the impression that it will only work with Windows PCs (not positive about that). This may be adequate for your needs, but it very well may not be. (Of course, I always like to add that using a tether connection, other than Verizon's official Mobile Hotspot service, is a violation of Verizon's TOS. Not that it matters to me what you do, but I feel that's information one should know before deciding to use it).
