Re: [Tool] Root 2.11.605.9 and .19, no downgrade or data wipe!
I used your tool a few weeks ago. It was my first time rooting and was a very easy process. I have done nothing else to my TB other than root with your tool. What would happen if the OTA gets installed on my phone?

I've never done this before. Do I use "Reboot Into Recovery" via ROM Manager?

Re: [Tool] Root 2.11.605.9 and .19, no downgrade or data wipe!
Here's the fun way to do the above!:
need fre3vo, su, Superuser.apk
install drivers, put phone in usb debugging.
1. get fre3vo
2. run revolutionary get s-off (revolutionary.io) (choose Y to flash recovery)Code:adb push fre3vo /data/local/ adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/fre3vo adb shell /data/local/fre3vo -debug -start F0000000 -end FFFFFFFF
3. boot into recovery with phone plugged in
4. in recovery do this:
Code:adb shell mount /system adb shell rm /system/app/DmClient.apk (omit this line if you want to keep getting OTAs) adb push su /system/bin/ adb shell chown 0.0 /system/bin/su adb shell chmod 06755 /system/bin/su adb shell rm /system/xbin/su adb shell ln -s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/ adb shell chmod 644 /system/app/Superuser.apk adb reboot

Re: [Tool] Root 2.11.605.9 and .19, no downgrade or data wipe!
I figured out that I was just flashing radios from RUU not whole OTA. Phone is working fine including 4g connectivity but on an interesting note - under Wireless Networks it says Mobile Network Connected but the box is unchecked/unhighlighted and under Quick Settings, it says Mobile Network Off. What causes this? Thanks.

Re: [Tool] Root 2.11.605.9 and .19, no downgrade or data wipe!
Thanks so much for posting detailed instructions. Everything went great for me.
My only suggestion is that you edit the text instructions.
Step 10 is somewhat incomplete and I had to review the video tutorial to find out what to do.
After "-Restarting adb..." you may want to add the following:
Do you want to block OTA Updates? [Y/N]
Enter Y. It keeps you from getting bootlooped.
Otherwise, totally awesome!Thanked by: - 05-31-2012, 11:53 PM #120
