Using a Nandroid

If/when i use a nandroid, do i have to wipe cache and dalvik? I'm rooted but still running stock and have never flashed a ROM.

A nandroid is a backup of you're current ROM. When flashing roms I usually wipe system, data, cache.

Hehe. I wipe dalvik to save space when doing a nandroid . First boot after a restore takes longer though since it needs to rebuild the dalvik cache.

A nandroid does a full backup of the cache and dalvik, so the quick answer to your question is "no", because those partitions are rebuilt from the backup anyway.
