will i lose all things even if they are stored on my SD card? For example, i moved all the apps i could on to my SD card and also my pictures/videos. Will they all be erased too?

Hey all, I'm stuck on section 2 just after step 3. I can get into the bootloader, select it, and load pg05img.zip. The progress bar on the right fills. Then it says checking pg05img.zip and the progress bar fills. Then it should give me the opportunity to start the update, but it doesn't and instead reverts to the original bootloader screen. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Is there a one click root for mac? Is the one click root recommended?

I used the auto root for mac link I posted back a couple of post. It worked great for me. It's one of the easiest ways to root the TB. The person that made the program took his video down for some reason but it works great.

I'd like to know as well. I'm getting the CM7 itch, but I want to make sure I can 1-click while having the OTA update from Friday.

I ended up just following the instructions from post 1. As everyone else said, it was extremely simple and i came across no errors! Even with the mr2 update, everything went smooth. I HIGHLY recommend using that procedure

I've tried using both the manual and automatic rooting methods, but neither has recognized my device. USB debugging is on, and the device s set to disk drive. In the manual method, no devices are listed in terminal, and in the automatic method the program is unable to recognize my device. Please help

I did the OTA upgrade on Friday night, and I was still able to perform a root by following the steps on page one. I had to do it twice because I accidentally unplugged during the root process.

EDIT: Failed to mention earlier that I flashed CM7 as well as the MR2 radio from XDA after rooting.

After successfully getting through a lot of the steps, I got up to the part where you have to put the new file on the SD card and my SD card wont show up on my mac, whether its connected the phone or not. I have debugging on and fastboot off, please help

Try a different usb slot, and/or a different usb cable.
If that doesn't work try a card reader.
If those dont work either, your SD card might be corrupted, and you'll need to reformat for FAT32.

went through the whole process, seemed to go through after final reboot installed super user, was setting back up my device, hadnt installed any other rooted apps yet, then i got the pop up for the 1.70.605.0 sw (which i had before i attempted root) so i went ahead and chose to do the update. After process completed installed root check and i do not have root access. Did i not have root to begin with? i was under the impression that OTA updates wil not work rooted, or did the ota kill my root? any ideas on what this rookie did wrong? as i stated before i did have the 1.70.605.0 sw before even starting the process, but from what i read it should be the same process as for previous MR updates to gain root.

First off, excellent job on the root method! This is my first TB root and it was happily uneventful. Completed all the steps and the end result was a working TB but connectivity was only 1X. I have a successful S-OFF w/ Radio-1.16.00.0223r. Just curious if others have gotten this result and what methods were taken to resolve the problem. Will upgrade firmware and redo the root tonight but all advice is appreciated.

    Thanks

Scratch that! The tech gods have smiled on me and it miraculously connected to 4G. Once again, top notch work! Let the overclocking and undervolting begin

Sounds like you rooted, and left it "stock rooted" - this is the MR1 update, with root access. So you're phone then prompted you to accept the update to MR2 - which you should have declined if you wanted to maintain root, because the OTA will remove it.

I am working through the process of rooting my TB, followed all the steps and watched the video. When running the ./adb devices command there are no devices attached. I tried repeating plugging and unplugging my TB and still nothing. Any ideas?

Same exact problem here. Any ideas?

    EDIT:
Found a solution. If anyone is having this problem AND you have installed EasyTether, you have to unload easytether on your mac for ADB to recognize your device. .

When I put the ./adb devices code into terminal, it doesn't list my device. It just says "list of devices attached" and then a blank space

edit: I uninstalled the easytether driver (I think) but it's still not working

edit: nevermind. I restarted my computer and all is good

Awesome! Glad I could help. Also if you haven't decided what rom you wanna use yet, I highly recommend the new Das BAMF 3.0 RC 4.9. I just installed it and it's freaking awesome!
