Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
will i lose all things even if they are stored on my SD card? For example, i moved all the apps i could on to my SD card and also my pictures/videos. Will they all be erased too?

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
Hey all, I'm stuck on section 2 just after step 3. I can get into the bootloader, select it, and load pg05img.zip. The progress bar on the right fills. Then it says checking pg05img.zip and the progress bar fills. Then it should give me the opportunity to start the update, but it doesn't and instead reverts to the original bootloader screen. What am I doing wrong?

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
I ended up just following the instructions from post 1. As everyone else said, it was extremely simple and i came across no errors! Even with the mr2 update, everything went smooth. I HIGHLY recommend using that procedure

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
I've tried using both the manual and automatic rooting methods, but neither has recognized my device. USB debugging is on, and the device s set to disk drive. In the manual method, no devices are listed in terminal, and in the automatic method the program is unable to recognize my device. Please help

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
I did the OTA upgrade on Friday night, and I was still able to perform a root by following the steps on page one. I had to do it twice because I accidentally unplugged during the root process.
EDIT: Failed to mention earlier that I flashed CM7 as well as the MR2 radio from XDA after rooting.Last edited by dubious1; 07-14-2011 at 12:03 AM.

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
After successfully getting through a lot of the steps, I got up to the part where you have to put the new file on the SD card and my SD card wont show up on my mac, whether its connected the phone or not. I have debugging on and fastboot off, please help

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
went through the whole process, seemed to go through after final reboot installed super user, was setting back up my device, hadnt installed any other rooted apps yet, then i got the pop up for the 1.70.605.0 sw (which i had before i attempted root) so i went ahead and chose to do the update. After process completed installed root check and i do not have root access. Did i not have root to begin with? i was under the impression that OTA updates wil not work rooted, or did the ota kill my root? any ideas on what this rookie did wrong? as i stated before i did have the 1.70.605.0 sw before even starting the process, but from what i read it should be the same process as for previous MR updates to gain root.

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
First off, excellent job on the root method! This is my first TB root and it was happily uneventful. Completed all the steps and the end result was a working TB but connectivity was only 1X
. I have a successful S-OFF w/ Radio-1.16.00.0223r. Just curious if others have gotten this result and what methods were taken to resolve the problem. Will upgrade firmware and redo the root tonight but all advice is appreciated.
Thanks

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
I am working through the process of rooting my TB, followed all the steps and watched the video. When running the ./adb devices command there are no devices attached. I tried repeating plugging and unplugging my TB and still nothing. Any ideas?

Re: [Mac Procedure]: How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt
When I put the ./adb devices code into terminal, it doesn't list my device. It just says "list of devices attached" and then a blank space
edit: I uninstalled the easytether driver (I think) but it's still not working
edit: nevermind. I restarted my computer and all is goodLast edited by xoluvsdance12; 07-19-2011 at 08:31 PM.
