Help! Stuck! Rooting

So I was rooting my phone using manual root instructions from rootzwiki, and I was on step four

Here you will rename the downgrade RUU as PG05IMG.zip and place it on your SD card by running the following command:

adb push RUU_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.03.605.10_Radio_1.02.00.0103_2r_NV_8k_1.37_9k_1.52_release_165253_signed.zip /sdcard/PG05IMG.zip

Using the adb code to push the RUU and rename it bypasses a lot of problems people have been having. If you're so used to Windows that you insist on dragging and dropping it, be sure to rename the file to PG05IMG.zip BEFORE putting on your sdcard. People have had issues with it not flashing and corrupting the file if they renamed it while it was on the sdcard.

I pushed it in CMD, using adb.. and it went to boot loader screen.. I hit the "bootloader" option, and was supposed to see it update.. but nothing happened...?
It wouldnt let me out, and Im stuck on a screen that reads:

Yea nothing happened. I had to pull the battery for the phone to reboot.
Do I start the process over? Kinda scared to now lol

Seem to be stuck at this renaming RUU part.. (part 4)
When I try to access my device as a hard disk on my computer, it comes up as "Q:VerizonWireless blah blah blah - and I cant get to any folders on the phone except for the one verizon put there for vcast manager.

Im used to my old droid, where i could plug it in and drag and drop.. but doesnt seem to be the case with this one.. I cant access it like I would my droid.

plug in the usb, open the notification and it might say charge only, change it to mount as hard drive

Ok thanks, it was on HTC Sync, but the notification didnt come up I had to go under connect to pc to have it go to disk drive..

So let me get this straight, when I get to step four, I rename : RUU_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.03.605.10_Radio_1.02.00.01 03_2r_NV_8k_1.37_9k_1.52_release_165253_signed.zip to PG05IMG.zip and drag it to which folder on the device ? Just the main one it pops up with? (with all the app sub folders)

If thats the case, they what was the original PG05IMG.zip they had us download for?

yeah just the main one when it pops up (root folder)

the original was a downgrade so you can add the new RUU to root the phone. delete the old one and change the name of the new RUU and place it on the main folder

Ok so Im still stuck.. I renamed it, put it on sd card, adb reboot bootloader
and I hit bootloader by pressing the power button - but nothing happens (no prompt to update or anything) and my only options are

HBOOT
<Vol up> to previous item
<Vol down> to next item
<power> to select item
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
HBOOT USB
IMG CRC


what gives!

Is the one you are going to flash 2nd

One you are supposed to do 1st.

Exploits has files busybox, psneuter for later, and su.

Ok if Im using PG05IMG.zip first, then why does it say rename it?? if its already named PG05IMG ?

When do you flash the second one "RUU MECHA" etc..? After step 6

I think you have it backwards

RUU MECHA i flash first.. (Rename it first)

then around step 6, flash the PG05IMG.zip ? No?

I got to step six, and the numbers didnt match, so i have to restart (saying i didnt correctly downgrade firmwave)

Ugh Im so frustrated.. Im usually very good with this stuff, lol

Did you ever get past step four. Im on the same boat as you. I put the downgrade RUU renamed as PG05IMG.zip on my SD card and then I do the command adb reboot bootloader. My phone will then go through the process of checking the PG05IMG.zip but then it never asks me to upgrade, so im stuck at this point. Didnt know if you had made it past this point or not and how you did it.

I redid it a bunch of times, making sure the RUU i renamed was a complete working file, i seemed to have made it past this part - after it was "checking imgs".. it asked me to update, and is in the process of doing so.

I never get it to say updating. Ive done it about five times but i guess ill try again.

Where did you download your RUU file from. I cant get mine to work. The Verizon RUU file
