Like Zero Neck said.. sounds like a bad download or the whole file didn't download... It happens with Google Chrome sometimes.. if that's what you're using. If so... try downloading the file with Internet Explorer and check the size of the file and make sure it matches the size of the download.

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
Restore apps with data is correct. Restoring system data is known to cause problems so I wouldn't do that. You can run the batch restore or you can restore each app one at a time or if the apps already on the phone.. just the apps data. I usually use MyBackup Pro for restoring sms, call log, etc... and use Launcher Pro which backs up my home screen settings along with using Titanium.

Yes, in recovery. You could possibly get away with only clearing the two caches and not the data going from ROM example v3.1 to ROM example v3.2 without any problems but it's better to just wipe the data also so you don't take any chances of something screwing up. There's some related threads on the top of the first page on how to backup apps and settings that will make switching ROMs less of a hassle.

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
If you're referring to the link I posted for going back to the stock ROM... Then yes, pg05img file flashed in bootloader.... not recovery. Instructions are in the link.. make sure you rename the file from "pg05img_stock" to just "pg05img" and leave the file zipped.
Instructions for flashing the pg05img file are on the first page of this guide under "installing/flashing radios" - 07-15-2011, 09:34 AM #141
Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
I must be missing a step. I followed all the instructions on installing a new ROM and after I installed LTB 2.3 and the short setup questions it asks, I do not see any of my installed apps. Do I manually have to restore all my purchased apps and contacts?
If so, I can't use any apps (like Titannium Backup or ROM Manager) that I had installed to do that because they are not there.
Also, can't get to app market because I have to yet install the required Radio. Also, I connect usb cable but I don't see my SD Card and do not find "Connect To PC" in the Settings.
Thanks anyoneLast edited by deltaden; 07-15-2011 at 09:50 AM.

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
You need radio connectivity to have Google replace your apps (in accounts and sync docs must be selected as well), same goes for titanium backup - you need the app back before you can restore stuff.
So you'll need to get that radio on your SD card, try putting your card in a card reader, or in am old phone, or try a different usb cable or usb slot. - 07-23-2011, 01:41 PM #143

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
It depends if you want a sense rom or an aosp (android open source project) rom -
If you like sense, many use das bamf roms, and you could choose between bamf 1.8.6 (froyo with Updated radio) or bamf 2.1 (gingerbread with updated radio) - these are both very stable.
For aosp roms, liquid thunderbread is probably the most stable and popular around here. Also runs with the updated radio.
This thread has info on how to install radios and roms, and you can check out the threads for the bamf roms and thunderbread rom to get some feedback. - 07-26-2011, 10:18 PM #145

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
So I finally sacked up and rooted my phone, flashed a new ROM(Gingeritis 3D) and radio.
Everything is working fine except the lack of 4G. After reading some other posts, they mentioned to check the md5 on my phone vs what the dev provided and they don't match. But no one else mentions how to fix this.
So, how do I fix this?
Do I have to wipe the phone and reflash the ROM?

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
The md5 did not match for which - the rom or the radio?
Also, some radios work well on some phones but poorly on others. There are currently 4 MR2+ radios - the official mr2, the originally leaked mr2, the leaked mr2.5, and chingy's gb leak radio. You could download one or more of those and give them a try, but make sure the md5's match up to what's posted.
If it's just a radio change, you don't need to wipe anything - you just need to flash the new radio in hboot then rename or delete the PG05IMG.zip file when you are thru.Thanked by 2: - 08-08-2011, 06:48 PM #149

Re: [Guide] How to Backup, Restore & Install ROMs on The Thunderb
After I flashed the clockwork mod when i hit boot into recovery mode it just takes me to the regular bootloader so i can't install ROMS or backup anything. Do you know a solution to this?
