New radio and constant reboots...

So I flashed this new radio yesterday. Did a full wipe. Reloaded mikmik 1.3. Using utmost*? kernel. Now I'm getting random reboots like you wouldn't believe. Sometimes 2-3 in a 45 min span. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The new radio goes hand in hand with the new RUU. Some have had success just flashing the radio but the new rom changes some stuff in the framework, I believe.

I flashed bamf 1.5 and I have flashed mikmil's 1.4 beta. Have not had one reboot. 1.3 may be incompatible with the new radio.

YMMV.

I have flashed just the radio and I have not had any problems.

Its weird...i was @ the gym using the music player and twice it did it....then i remember i did a rom backup from 3 days ago....wiped the phone completely then restored the backup...was fine all yesterday, this morning I had 2 reboots for no reason at all.

Hey boogie,

I have flashed ROMs and kernels. How do i go about flashing the Radio only? I have downloaded and flashed the RUU and i get reboots. Well i have only had 2 but would much rather go back to when i had none. How do i flash just the radio file which i heard is 25MB the radio file within the RUU file i downloaded is 26MB? Is it the same way as the whole RUU file. boot into Hboot?

Ok i found that 25MB file using the link posted by Zero and downloading it now.

So tell me Boogie have you loaded this one yet? I know you said you were experiencing the reboots. I wont be able to flash it until later.

normally I don't help Patriots fans but I'll drop the pride for now. lolol. I do know with MikMik's rom and BAMF roms, when you hold the power button and bring up the Power Menu, you can hit restart then 4 options show up (Normal, Hot Restart, Bootloader, and Recovery) You'll want to put that radio zip at the root of your folder and rename it as stated in the other threads. Then from there, you should know what to do so far as once you get in to H-Boot.

Okay so I have been doing a bit of research on this, I'm still new to the whole android debugging thing, so bear with me ...

Its apparently happened a couple of times to some people over on xda, and they said they found a permissions issue. Problem is, its hard to pin down what exactly will point to that.

So, in order to fix the permissions, check wiki out, and see if that helps at all.

I'll keep looking around to see what I can find, at least for a little bit, before real life calls me back.

I guess I should have laid off the instability code and random reboots I added.

Seems to me you could have handled this with a little more tact, no?

Your ROM is working great. The Radio is the part that's messing up, it could be some local tower issues, idk.

yea, i think he meant the combination of the leaked radio and your great ROM is whats messing it up. I too installed the Radio (but the whole file) and then BAMF 1.5 over it and have experienced 2 REBOOTS. The last one was about 7 hours ago and i havent changed anything. Going to wait it out and see what happens.

I did a FULL wipe. Everything. I loaded mikmik 1.4 beta. No reboots as of yet. The 3G cut in and out a couple times. I pulled the battery and haven't experienced it yet. Ill post a screen of my info shortly.

That is more than likely where your problems are stemming from. Your phone might also be overclocked too high. I've had no random reboots on 1.5 with a clean flash and the extracted radio file.

Remember, it's not a bug. It's a feature.

Running the new radio with 1.5 and only issue is that switching from 3G to 4G takes forever, but that was the case before I upgraded the radio.

Im not overclocked. Atleast i dont think iam? I will try just the Radio only and see what happens from there. Thanks

One more thing it rebooted one more time but this time my phone was just laying there. Had been for about hour and i noticed it when the screen came on with the white HTC screen. That was when i knew i needed to get this fixed.

Hmm... I dont want to jinx myself but since flashing just the radio file last night. I have actually had better connection? But in 3G we dont have 4G here, and i live out in the sticks. I have not had one reboot. Adrynalyne just posted some packages for us to try out.

Hope one works for you. If i get the reboot i hope one of them works for me hehe
