About GB Bricking Issue....
So I have been following the threads on XDA since they warned of the bricking issues.....I have decided to return to GB as there are several users there that either never switched back, or have flashed back with no issues. I was having no issues before, and pray no issues after. I will repost a follow up after a few days use. If I do brick guess I will donate to jcase for "science" lol....wish me luck

Good luck
I have been rolling the dice too and (knock on wood) haven't had any issue. If anyone does run into a problem please post and let us know what happened.

I will also be going back. A couple days ago i switch back to froyo from GB Remix and i have had many reboots. I have tried every combination of radios and kernels. I actually wiped everhttp://forum.androidcentral.com/images/icons/icon8.gifything 2 times and still have these reboots.
So i will be going back to GB tonight after my class. For those following the threads. Has there been any headway on the "Charging" issue? Took me 14 hours to get to like 84% on an extended battery?!
If you don't have an iPhone.... Well you're probably doing alright.

I went back on Friday as well. No issues so far. I keep reading all the different forums each day to see if there are new bricks. So far so good. Hopefully we will get a new radio leak soon but the risk is always there since we choose to push our phones to the limit.

I'm rocking GB again. Did the flip flop and decided it's worth any issues that might happen.

I can't live without Netflix now that I've had a taste of it on my phone. I use it almost every night in bed. Now if I had a tablet I would probably use that instead, but I don't. I'm hoping for an update with some fixes soon, but overall I have no major complaints with GB BAMF.

jcase totally appreciate what you are doing, even more so the ethics of giving us the heads up.....you did not have to do that. I am just taking my chances. If I do brick I will attempt to contact you right away to see what happened. I do know I am running the same chip as the all on the XDA forums. Once again thanks for all you do, and I do appreciate the heads up.

I haven't been following XDA on this lately. Has anyone reported being bricked since the warning was issued?

I have returned to the sweet GBs as well. No issue. Its just too much awesome.
Netflix, my sweet! How I love thee! - 06-02-2011, 09:07 AM #16
Seems like many people have been going back to the loved Gingerbreard so if we don't hear about bricks here soon I would think we should have a good chance of not bricking our phones

I loved the sense 2.1 and 3.0 elements that were added to GB... almost makes me want to risk going back to it, but hopefully there should be another leak soon!

By the way, how is battery life on gb?
- 06-02-2011, 01:29 PM #19
A couple claim it's better but I've noticed a huge drop mainly while idle over both 3G and wifi. I reverted back to the stock ota to see if that solved the data connection problems I was having and now I wanna jump off a building. Gotta wait til after 5 when I get home to re-root and restore my das BAMF 2.0-5 backup.

From what I can tell the battery life is the same as Froyo but I'm overcloked at 1.4 on GB versus 1.2 on Froyo.
- 06-02-2011, 02:26 PM #21
Battery life seems to be less on GB no doubt. Maybe it's because I'm using it a lot more with Netflix, and charging takes longer than on Froyo.
I'm going to give Gingeritis a shot until BAMF gets an update. - 06-02-2011, 02:44 PM #22
Took me 5 hours to go from 50% to only effing 85%. I could go from 50 to full battery in about 30 minutes. My only major draw with gb. As for bat life I think its better then bamf 1.6.3, never used 1.7. I use my phone consistently through out the day and lasts a good 10-12 hours, when not using netflix lol.

Same here. Been running all of the das BAMF 2.0-X versions since initial release and am currently on last nights 3.0 preview. Can't seem to find anything to complain about.
