I've got it loaded up and it's doing pretty good. Takes a little while to lock in on 4g, but all in all good so far. I'm running the 2.5 radio

when you ran Gapps did you have to redownload all of your non paid apps or did it do it automatically?

Once all of the gapps finished downloading everything from the market started coming down automatically my first time around. I had to do a full wipe because of something I tried to restore and this time around my apps did not automatically start downloading. I've ran into thios problem before with other ROMS, not sure why it does it one time and not the other. I usually hop on my market online and force download everything to my phone that way.

From a reboot: It takes about 15 seconds to find 3g and then it takes about 2 minutes to find 4g. I am in a strong 4g area. But once I'm in 4g it's staying locked and I'm getting normal download speeds.

The notes say that GPS does not work well. Any confirmation? Also, does this have Sense? Is this okay for consumers or better for hacker, bleeding edge types?

NO sense (it is an AOSP ROM) and no GPS as of right now... but I can live with out sense and GPS maybe a deal breaker for me...

I tried to get some straight answers from XDA but unless you have a million post's, they treat you like you don't even exist... thats why I love this site:)

Can one of you guys do us a HUGE favor and send some screen shots of the interface and how things look with CM7? I would REALLY appreciate it!

thanks

Also, if its not too much, a step by step on how to install CM7 with Gapps would be really amazing as well.

ON the first page of this thread click on the first link and then select the link for which ever radio u are using.. either the mr1 or mr2 or mr2.5, then select the second link that I posted for Gapps. once you have them both downloaded. plug you phone in and place both zip files on the root of you SD card.
NOW before you do anything at all.. MAKE A NANDROID back up first just in case some thing goes wrong you can fall back on your backup. once done. go into ROM manager and reboot into recovery, then do a full wipe, cache wipe, and under advanced -a dalvik wipe. (just to be safe repeat these three steps twice) - then select install zip from SD and choose the CM7 zip that you put on your sd card after that immediately flash the Gapps zip too. once they are done just select reboot phone from the menu.(it may take a few minutes) but you should have successfully flashed CM7 and Gapps at the same time :) then just go through the directions for setting up google accts on you phone (self explanitory) ... good luck

Re: CM7 for Thunderbolt. RC1.1 Updated 6-30 08:51AM Now supports

So I flashed the AOSP lean kernel and ran speedtweak.sh and choose option 5) battsaver: extremely undervolted, not overclocked - I must say battery life is excellent now... for real. other than the GPS I am very impressed thus far....

[GB Kernel] leanKernel: minimalistic kernel (3.4.0GBtest 6/29/11, v3.1.6cm7 6/17/11) - xda-developers

ALSO... I don't know if I mentioned it BUT battery charging is RIDICULOUSLY fast...

Thanks man I appreciate your help!

CM Roms are based of of Android Open Source Projects. meaning that all android code is made public and built from the (basically) ground up. dasBamf roms are somewhat desensed and built of that... I like both types of ROM's . as of right now db 2.1 is running great and pretty much no issues... CM7 is still haveing some issues aquiring all of the code neccessary for certains aspects to run perfect.

i think of it like this AOSP roms are PURE :) but dasBAMF is amazing too. it is just a matter of opinion what ever works best for you :) give them both a shot, just remember to nandroid before doing anything.
