Person at college where I work got a Thrive and downloaded and installed firmware updates available, now won't boot. Any suggestions?

Best I understood they were on 3.1 and unrooted. Basically, brand new and installing first updates shown to be available.

Update - I had read once about using the power button and volume button together. That worked.

The only suggestion I have is don't update!!! If it isn't broke don't mess with it. Read all the forums and you will learn.
