Samsung showcase

I'll have to post this here since this is the closest phone to mine. Hopefully someone will know what I need.

I have an Ntelos Samsung Showcase running 2.3.5. I want to either root it or roll it back to 2.2 then root it.

Anyone know the best way to root this beast or the best way to roll it back?

There isn't alot of development for my phone since Ntelos is small...however...it's almost a mirror image of the US Cellular i500

Did you ever find a way to root your showcase?
I'm thinking of getting the showcase, but being able to root is a big deciding factor.

sure haven't. Actually still searching around. I wish I had bought the phone at Froyo and just never upgraded..sadly that didn't happen.
